Atkins diet, superfood diet, Yoga, Keto, and exercise. All of these things promise to make you feel better and add some years to your life. But what about the simple things? Faith, family, and prayer. Surely these things have an impact on your life, right?

Right!

According to a 2018 study by the Journal of Social Psychological and Personality Science (SPPS), “self-reported religious service attendance has been linked with longevity.”

Results showed that religiously affiliated people lived between 5.64 and 9.45 years longer than those with no religious affiliation. In other words, religious people live longer!

We already know God’s blessings are immeasurable and infinite. But how many of us stop to think that a long life can be one of those blessings?

Now, I’m sure just showing up to service as if it’s a chore every Sunday won’t stop your cells from breaking down; you must participate! Get involved. Talk to other worshipers, share stories, share joy, and feel the love.

There is no doubt whether you’re faithful or not, a positive attitude and environment can have the most beneficial impact on your life, both mentally and physically.

Now even science agrees. Get up, get out, and go to church! Mingle with your brothers and sisters. Build community. The life you save may be your own.
