Some translations of Proverbs 16:20 tell us that the one who heeds the word of God doesn’t just find good, but that he finds prosperity and whatever he does is blessed.
Whichever translation you choose to commit to heart, the truth still remains, and that is that through Christ, and trusting in Him, are our lives blessed and prosperous.
John 1:1 assures us that the Word is Christ and that Christ is God (REV. 19:13). When we love Him and we seek more of Him, and as we seek Him so does our desire to do what it is that He has instructed (JOHN 14:15, 23).
When we seek Him in love, to obey His commands which is to love (JOHN 13:34) then we have made the decision not to lean on our own understanding or logic. We choose His direction and promptings not only in our walk with Him as a separate entity apart from other aspects of life, but we see our spiritual walk and relationship with Him as the foundation for all other aspects of life.
We follow His promptings in our relationships, in business, in home life and in so doing we are blessed and prospered.
Trusting in Christ Jesus leads to blessing and prosperity. We can rest fully assured and secure when we trust Him. Christ is prosperity and prosperity is found in trusting Christ.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths”. ~PROVERBS 3:5-6
Let us all turn to Him in all things, on the mountain, in the valley, in the shadow of darkness or in the light. He is for us and His plans are to prosper us and give us each a hope and future (JEREMIAH 29:11).
All we must do is trust in Him and His Word.
“Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go. 18 Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea. 19 Your descendants also would have been like the sand, And the offspring of your body like the grains of sand; His name would not have been cut off Nor destroyed from before Me.” ~ISAIAH 48:17-19
