Michelle Williams is not wallowing in her struggles with depression, she is helping others overcome their own mental health issues by creating a Bible devotional on YouVersion.

The gospel singer and businesswoman who rose to fame in Grammy-winning R&B trio Destiny’s Child has been a mental health advocate for years. Now, she is teaming up with YouVersion for a three day video devotional.

“…In a very special YouVersion story, Michelle Williams opens up about her faith journey through depression and anxiety, and about her continuing source of hope and peace: God’s Word,” a description of the devotional reads. “In each of these video Devotionals, Michelle brings you biblical encouragement, inspiration, and insight.”

Last month Williams, announced that she was taking time to work on her mental health.TMZ reported that the singer checked herself into a mental health facility outside of Los Angeles, California to treat depression.

She went on to share her experience during the process.

“For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it’s time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your wellbeing,” she wrote. “I recently listened to the same advice I have given to thousands around the world and sought help from a great team of healthcare professionals. Today I proudly, happily and healthily stand here as someone who will continue to always lead by example as I tirelessly advocate for the betterment of those in need.”

After years of speaking about her commitment to mental health, Williams reaffirmed her commitment recently.

“I had no plans of what I was going through being public BUT now that it is I have a made an even BIGGER commitment to the mental health awareness area. So many people are suffering, hurting, hopeless, lost and don’t see a way out but there is,” she shared in an Instagram post last month. “Depression sucks, but my faith in God and my commitment to doing the work to stay well is my way out! You have to do the work even when you’re tired and feel the heaviness. Take one step at a time!”
