Apart from each other, Zach Ertz and Julie Ertz have won NFL and soccer championships respectively. Together, the powerhouse couple successfully launched their Christ centered charity with an event that raised thousands to empower kids through faith.

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz and his U.S. women’s national team soccer playing wife Julie Ertz raised $200,000 for their Ertz Family Foundation’s first event Saturday.  The Ertz Family Foundation has a mission to spread faith, love and compassion by building a sense of community through sports and education opportunities, Zach announced in a tweet last month. At the first event that took place Saturday, a number of famous friends supported the mission including San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman and Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideout Chris Owusu.

A silent auction also took place at the event where Zach’s fellow Christian teammates, Eagles quarterbacks Nick Foles and Carson Wentz autographed items along with Oakland Raiders QB Derek Carr and Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout.

“Due to the unbelievable generosity from those in attendance and those out there who contributed to the @ertzfamilyfoundation launch event, we are excited to announce that we have raised well over $200,000,” the charity tweeted Tuesday.

The charity ended the tweet with Matthew 22:39 which says, “you shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

The foundation revealed how important faith is to the organization’s founders and revealed how the Ertz family’s first event started with prayer.

“Faith is an important part of @ZERTZ_86 and @julieertz lives,” a tweet from the foundation reads. “They appreciate Pastor Kyle of the Connect Church for starting dinner with prayer.”

In 2015, Julie won a FIFA Women’s World Cup title with Team USA. Her husband won a Super Bowl championship with the Eagles last year.
