Tim Tebow is determined to help people live their best lives each and every day.

The NFL player turned minor league baseball player visited “Good Morning America” this week where he promoted the recent release of his book This Is the Day: Reclaim Your Dream. Ignite Your Passion. Live Your Purpose. While on the program, the New York Times bestselling author revealed why he aims to make the most of each day.

“We don’t know how many days we have and so I didn’t want to live a one-day life,” Tebow said on GMA, according to ABC. “I wanted to live a this-is-the-day life that I want to enjoy. I want to live life to the fullest.”

A number of people make these types of proclamations on social media, but the 31-year-old athlete wants to take things one step further.

“That’s not something I wanted to put on Instagram as my hashtag,” he said. “That’s something I wanted to come from my heart, to truly live it on purpose.”

With his latest book, Tebow is challenging people to reach their goals and dreams instead of putting them off for another day. The athlete turned author shares personal stories while coaching readers on the path to success regardless of their age, circumstance or goal.

“I wanted to make conscious choices and decisions to start living that every single day, when my alarm went off, I was going to wake up knowing that this day was on purpose, to live out my dreams, live out my passion and, more than anything, live out my purpose,” he said.

In his book, Tebow encourages people to look past fear to accomplish their dreams.

“Now is the time to take some risks, to quiet the voices of defeat, to step forward and make a mark, because this is the day,” he writes in the book.
