For months CeCe Winans has been helping people usher in the holiday spirit with her latest release, Something’s Happening! A Christmas Album. Now, she is opening up about what she loves about Christmas.
In an Ambo TV exclusive video, the 12-time Grammy Award winning gospel singer who serves as the co-pastor of Nashville Life Church in Nashville, Tenn says she loves that the Christmas holiday gives people a reason to think about more than just themselves.
“I love Christmas because during this time of year we think about one another, how we can be a blessing to other people. It’s all about love peace joy and happiness,” Winans says. “It’s about the birth of Jesus Christ. And Jesus is the greatest gift of all.”
The renowned singer who has been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, Hollywood Walk of Fame and Nashville Music City Walk of Fame has been helping people prepare for Christmas since the October release of her latest project Something’s Happening! A Christmas Album. While the project features some traditional and new hits sung in the key of Winans’ legendary voice, she is making sure that people remember the true reason for the Christmas season.
“My desire is that when the world hears this project that they are reminded of the true reason and spirit of Christmas. When Jesus was born something AMAZING happened that changed the world forever,” Winans said in a statement obtained by Ambo TV. “In the midst of all the celebration, we must not forget to remember and offer to others the best gift of all…JESUS.”
Aside from her Christmas album, Winans is sharing her latest music video for her single “It’s Christmas.” The visuals for the upbeat tune with a throwback feel were filmed in the singer’s hometown of Detroit.
When she was invited to sing at the official tree lighting ceremony in Detroit recently, cameras captured Winans enjoying her city, family, friends and fans. The “It’s Christmas” music video was directed by Ryan Smith, the son of renowned Christian singer Michael W. Smith.
Ryan also produced the visuals along with Brandon Gregory. The still images featured in the video were captured by photographer Brandon Chesbro.
