Angela Simmons could most likely hire people to serve her the finest things in life, but instead, the television personality and mogul is sharing the importance of being a servant for others.

The mother and fitness guru explained some of the benefits of serving others in an Instagram post Wednesday.

“Be ready to serve. When you realize your life is bigger than just yourself is when you start to really enjoy life,” she wrote. “When you start to realize you grow through what you go through just to turn around and teach someone else how to get through something they may not have been able to get through without your strength. God uses us to be vessels for others.”

The 30-year-old television personality and daughter of veteran hip hop minister Reverend Run advised her followers to be present in life.

“Learn to be present in life,” Angela’s post reads. “So you can fully step into your God given purpose . #ServantsHeart  #GodIsGreat”

For years, Angela has showcased her heart for service by visiting Haiti and spending time with children from Christian non-profit organization Mission of Grace. The Mission of Grace is an orphanage that hosts 70 children along with a church,  school, medical clinic, elderly care home, and men’s discipleship home, according to the organization’s website.

According to the mission of the organization, “we believe that there is a plan and a purpose for every life here in Haiti, and Ms Lynn, Miss Kim and so many others have given their lives to help see future leaders raised up for Haiti.”

Angela also shared her passion for the children in Haiti in an Instagram video two years ago.

“Every time I come out here I am not only re-inspired but I’m like what else can I do,” she said. “Ok passion is there, I know it’s something I need to do. I just need to figure it out.”
