The Hill: A Word of Faith & Musical Interlude

SPECIAL NOTE: In the face of current circumstances and the pandemic as well as economic fear, the Lord in His grace and mercy, reminded me not only of this glorious song by Travis Greene, but the revelation He had given me concerning it. And although it has been four years since this message was written, it is very relevant right now, especially as many in the Body of Christ, tremble in the shadow of sickness and the enemy. Family, be encouraged, and remember as we draw into the season of Passover and Resurrection, that the BLOOD STILL DEFEATS DEATH!

Be encouraged and look to that beautiful Hill called Calvary where the Blood of the Lamb, Christ Jesus, was shed for us and covers us even now!

As I was having worship and pray and listened to the song, The Hill by Travis Greene, for the very first time, my spirit was overwhelmed with the Lord Yeshua Jesus’ comfort and truth! And in so, I heard Yeshua Jesus say, “Share this with them.” Meaning you all.

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help?
2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. 3 He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The Lord is your [b]keeper;
The Lord is your shade at your right hand. 6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night. 7 The Lord shall [c]preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. 8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.” ~PSALM 121

Travis Greene, the writer of this song, takes a full grasp of this scripture, one I’ve often pondered, but he drives it to the deepest meaning. I mean why would we be instructed to look to the hills in the first place when we are in trouble? Here is the glorious answer. This song has a verse that brings it home:

“On the Hill, there’s a Cross. On the Cross, there is Blood for me!” ~ TRAVIS GREENE

Yeshua Jesus hung on a cross that was on a HILL for us! The Word says that before the foundation of the world He was slain for us (Revelation 13:8), meaning He knew full well that we would need His redemptive work, and though He finished it outside of time, He came and died at the fullness of time (Galatians 4:4-5), but before that time He tells us to look in the direction of the help He has purchased for us!

It is like sitting outside right before dawn, waiting for the moment that the sun will break forth upon the horizon bathing the Earth with the day’s first kiss of light. It may be dark as we wait, but we know to set our gaze to the east.

We’ve well learned that the sun rises in the east, so no matter how dark it gets we know the light will come from that direction. We trust. We wait. We believe. And we are not disappointed.

Even still and greater still, the psalmist, in the spirit of prophecy, instructs us to look to the hills for our help. Look towards the horizon for though it is dark the Son will rise! And He will rise with healing in His wings (Malachi 4:2).

Even Abraham rejoiced to see His day as he prepared to sacrifice Isaac upon Mount Moriah which was a picture and prelude to the Savior carrying His cross in His innocents to die for our sin, the perfect sacrifice for all creation.

Abraham received the ram caught in the thicket as we receive the Lamb slain for us. (Genesis 22,) (John 8:56-59)

Glory to God for the Hill, for the cross upon the hill, and the blood that was shed upon that cross upon that hill for us! The blood still has power! His blood still saves! His blood still HEALS and RESURRECTS!

Let us continue to believe with child-like faith. It doesn’t have to make sense. He never asked us to reason it out. He simply invites us to believe.

Isaiah 53 does not change. Even Peter echos this truth reminding us that we are already healed in this life! (I Peter 4:24) It is our right to receive wholeness in this life! Take hold of it! Let God be true and EVERY MAN a liar.

His Word says we are healed. Take it by faith! By the stripes on His back and by His blood which gives you the right to have it!

Listen to the song in entirety. Travis Greene, the writer and worship leader gives 3 testimonies of how the Lord has worked miracles for him in his life. The same God who did it for him will do it for us as well.

We simply must believe no matter how long it takes. He is outside of time. And the Son always rises! He has already risen…

I love you all!
