Maverick City Music to Host Online Song Writing Camp

Maverick City Music prides itself on being “unorthodox, free spirit, rule breaker, one that breaks away from the herd.” Combining two of Christianity’s favorite genres, Gospel Music and CCM, their three powerful albums have created unique and authentic spontaneous worship experiences.

In such a small time frame, their music has impacted and blessed thousands of lives worldwide. This record label serves as a bridge between different groups within the body of Christ, which has been revolutionary.

Now, Maverick City wants to share their unorthodox approach with others by hosting their third online writing camp that will take place Thursday, July 23, 2020, to Saturday, July 25, 2020. This initiative was first announced at the peak of the quarantine caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but that did not stop the talented artists from wanting to share their knowledge with the world and up-in-coming songwriters.

“This is an online experience that allows you to join the Maverick City team and other writers from around the world for an exclusive 3 day writing camp. This is an all-immersive writing experience and exclusively curated space for a select few creatives that exemplify the Maverick way,” reads a description on the event’s website.

For those interested in joining this experience, Maverick City outlines the different songwriting expectations they have for their participants.

“You can expect to connect and co-write with writers just like you from around the country from the comfort of your home. You will get a taste of the Maverick City Music culture, learn from seasoned writers, and perhaps leave with some songs you can use back home. While we consider and listen to all songs, the goal of these songs is that they would live and be sung by the communities we all come from.”

The starting price to apply for this experience is $25. You can register at their Eventbrite page. For additional updates, be sure to follow them on Instagram.
