“Father, if You are willing, take this cup away from Me. Yet not My will, but Your will, be done.” (Luke 22:42 VT)

Sometimes surrendering to the will of God can be difficult.  It’s not that we are trying to be disobedient, but it is because we know the great cost obedience may require. Like Jesus, we pray for this painful cup to pass us. But growth and submission to God’s will can cause discomfort. Jesus lets us know that it’s ok to pray about our discomfort while also praying for God’s will.
