YouTuber Shares Practical Ways To Survive In The Wilderness
Kytia L’Amour is sharing some practical things that may help people survive in the wilderness season in their lives.
The wilderness is often a season of testing, pruning or lack of advancement that leads people to the next level in their faith. For YouTuber L’Amour, it is possible to see a wilderness season as more than just painful.
“Yes, it is possible to be peaceful, productive, content, and happy in the wilderness. It all comes down to this: are you putting God first and do you REALLY believe in His promises,” she wrote in a lengthy social media post. “I’ve been in a very wild season for the past three years, but even though it seemed like my life was crumbling all around me, there was always evidence of God’s hand.”
The YouTube personality used a Biblical example to support her point, explaining how the Israelites complained in their wilderness season after being freed from slavery in Egypt.
“When the Israelites left the slavery in Egypt, it didn’t take much time at all for their praise to turn to complaint. Before God would allow them into the promised land, He needed their relationship with Him to be solid and for them to walk in belief,” he said. “Not everyone made it in; it was only the obedient and faithful children of God who were able to walk in the fullness of His blessing. For the most part, I’ve held it together, but there were many times I cried out to God to let this be over.”

Those moments revealed how much work L’Amour still had to do with her character.
“He quickly showed me that there was work that needed to be done in my heart, my emotions, my character, my integrity, my family relationships, my marriage, and the list goes on. How humbling,” she said. “Something God would tell the Israelites to do during this process was to remind each other about how He rescued them and always provided for them. Talking to family members (who are supportive) and knew what I was going through was a critical part of helping me to keep my grip tight on the Word of God.”
She continued to share practical ways that she and her loved ones would help one another survive in their wilderness seasons.
“We’d constantly share testimonies and encouragement throughout the ‘dry land’ so that the desperation wouldn’t overtake us,” she said. “If you feel like throwing in the towel, ask God to remind you of the answered prayers you’ve already received as well as the work that might still need to be done in your life for you to be ready to properly steward your purpose and the responsibilities and blessings that come with it.”
