ESPN Host Samantha Ponder Glorifies God Despite Newborn’s Health Scare
Samantha Ponder is glorifying God for her children’s health after her newborn baby had to undergo emergency surgery.
The 32-year-old host of Sunday NFL Countdown on ESPN who happens to be married to former NFL star Christian Ponder admits that she struggles with social media. Still, she didn’t hold back in a recent Instagram post about her baby’s health.
“I know I risk looking like I’m asking for sympathy or even pity. I’m abundantly aware of the undeserved goodness of God I’ve experienced early in life,” the wife and mother wrote. “Especially when it comes to the health of my children and loved ones.”
Sam admitted to over analyzing whether she was bragging or complaining too much about her life off of television when posting things on social media. However, her child’s most recent health scare compelled her to share her story.
While she did not give the details about her baby girl Price’s medical issues, the mother of three revealed that the newborn had an unexpected surgery late last month that resulted in her being placed in the neonatal intensive-care unit. However, Sam called Price’s recovery miraculous and thanked God for her healing.
“Her recovery in the #NICU was nothing short of miraculous for a tiny body that had just undergone such trauma. I cannot thank the women who cared for her day and night enough,” she wrote. “We are home now, still recovering, but overwhelmed with thankfulness for a God who provided real peace and comfort in the midst of our worst nightmare, incredible surgeons, doctors and nurses, parents who didn’t hesitate to jump on a plane and help and the prayers of friends and family who believed for her healing.”

Sam introduced Price to the world last month with a scripture on Instagram.
“Meet Price. Our prayer is that she always knows her worth,” she wrote before posting a scripture. “‘For God bought you with a high price. So honor Him with your body and spirit.’ 1 Corinthians 6:20.”
