Ciara Prays With Comedians On The Red Carpet
For years, people have been asking singer Ciara to share the prayer that resulted in her marriage to Christian Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
When prompted to do so recently, the singer and mother of two decided to pray for two comedic hosts on the red carpet of VH1’s annual Mother’s Day Special, “Dear Mama: A Love Letter To Mom.”
Comedians B. Simone and Pretty Vee ran into the singer on the red carpet for the event and asked her to share her prayer. Ciara responded with a prayer that glorified God.
“We’re ready for the prayer.. please Cici, please, “ B. Simone pleaded with the singer. “What’s the prayer for Russel?”
“Heavenly father we are gathered here today to lift you up and magnify your name in this moment,” she began praying. “And allowing us ..to celebrate our mamas.”
The singer’s prayer was cut off when B. Simone told her to “get to the man part.” However, Ciara has shared the faith journey that led to her marriage with Russell in the past.
In a previous interview with Essence magazine, Ciara explained how she was specific in her prayer for a God fearing man before meeting her husband.
“I remember telling my friend the kind of guy I wanted: a God-fearing man with a very fun spirit who loves kids and would really, truly care for me,” the 30-year-old singer recalled as the May covergirl of Essence Magazine. “I was very specific because I do believe you can have it all.”
While they were still dating, Ciara expressed that she was letting God be in control of her relationship.
“I feel very confident in the love that we have for each other, and only God knows where it’s going to go,” she previously told Page Six. “God knows everything that’s to come in the future, and I think it’s best to let Him keep taking control of things. Life is sweet, and I’m very thankful for all the great things happening in my life. I’m very happy.”
