Four Ways To Find God’s Purpose For Your Life
Can you believe we’re already halfway through 2019? Time is flying by and with six months left in the year, this message is ESPECIALLY important.
I have one simple question for you: Are you fulfilled?
In Jeremiah 29:11, God speaks to our calling. “ ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, “ ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ ”
This verse lets us know that each and every one of us was created not only in His image but with a specific purpose.
Finding your life’s purpose may sound a bit overwhelming, but I’ll let you in on a little secret. The best way to find your purpose is to find the things in life that truly bring you joy.
What brings you pure happiness? Check out these tips below to help begin your journey in finding your purpose.
1. Live For The Moment
There’s no better piece of advice than to enjoy the moments as they come. Life is a beautiful experience filled with miracles. Never take for granted even the smallest or most common blessings: a sunrise, a yummy meal, an effortless breath. The moment you begin to view life for its beauty and truly appreciate each moment you have, the clearer your purpose will become.
2. Don’t Compare
In this social media day and age, I know this is probably one of the hardest things to do. Scrolling through timelines can easily become a spiral into self-pity. Everyone is living their best life and achieving all their dreams.
But the reality isn’t always as pretty. Everyone has their own struggles and everyone discovers their passions on their own time frame. God has a plan for your life; His timing is always perfect. Remember Jeremiah 29:11. Never forget that.
3. Be True To You
Everyone finds joy in different places and there’s no shame in that! Perfect example, I enjoy scrapbooking. Not a common hobby amongst my friends. But guess what, who cares?! At the end of the day, what brings you joy may not be “cool” to everyone around you and that’s fine. Be honest with yourself and don’t be swayed by the opinions of others or currents trends.
4. Try Something New!
If you haven’t found your passion or purpose yet, try something new! If your answer to my question above wasn’t “YES!”, then you can’t expect to find the answer by doing the same things you’re doing currently.
There is an entire world to explore and there’s no time like the present to take advantage of that. Traveling is readily available, cultures are widespread and can be experienced all over the world.
The internet can help you find thousands of new activities with just the click of a button. Get out and do something outside the box; you won’t regret it.
There are 6 months left in 2019. Six months left in this decade! How will you choose to spend them? I hope you’ll choose to seek God’s calling for your life. Choose love. Choose happiness. Choose you.
Michelle’s Monthly Minute: Take time this month to brainstorm a completely new activity! Perhaps it’s trying a new restaurant, going to see a movie alone, visiting an open sports league or trying meditation! Whatever it is, make sure it’s something you’re genuinely interested in and make sure to follow through.
