T.D. Jakes, Wife And Family Reflect On Love On Anniversary
As Bishop T.D. Jakes and his wife Serita Jakes celebrate their 37th marriage anniversary, the megachurch leaders and their family are reflecting on their life story.
“He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor of the Lord. @FirstLadyJakes, you are my good thing,” said the Bishop who leads the Potter’s House church in Dallas, Texas. “I am grateful that God blessed me so immensely when He gave me you! May our love grow stronger and burn brighter to the end of time.”
His wife, first lady Serita Jakes, shared an equally touching message.
“Babe, You are my armor, my baker, and my one true love,” she wrote on social media. “Every love story is special, unique and beautiful – but ours is my favorite. I love lifin’ it with you, but forever isn’t long enough.”

Their preacher daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts, has taken on the Potter’s House mantle where she and pastor husband Toure Roberts run its L.A. campus. She took to social media to share a message about her parents’ example.
“Thank you for dancing in the kitchen…Thank you for wiping tears in your bedroom…Thank you for telling the story about being on your last dime on your honeymoon and choosing to go out in style…,” she wrote.
“…Thank you each for holding my hand when the doctor told your teen daughter to push…Thank you for giving that wink when Touré came in town to meet…Thank you for a lifetime of love that has shaped my world…Happy Anniversary to my first best friends.”
Their other daughter Corrine Jakes Coleman also expressed how much she was inspired by her parents’ love story.
“Everything I know about love started with these two. Your love has not only inspired me, but your love inspires the world,” she wrote. “I have learned of a love that is never ending, always faithful, always enduring, always joyful even in hard times, and always patient. You both exemplified the love of God in each other and for others.”
