3 Reasons The ‘Jesus:His Life’ Trailer Has Us Hyped About New Series
The first official trailer for the upcoming JESUS: HIS LIFE History Channel series has been released, giving us plenty of reasons to be excited.
While we have an idea of what we can expect from the unique retelling of Jesus Christ’s life, we are especially excited about these three things after getting a preview of some of the series.
1. Diversity
A quick look at the trailer gives us a glimpse of some of the diverse actors cast in the series. The angel Gabriel who tells Mary that she will birth the savior of the world happens to be played by a black British actor named Anthony Kaye.
Mary will be portrayed by Arab British actor Houda Echouafani who is of Moroccan and Egyptian descent. While we’ve only been given a quick glimpse of all of the actors that will be featured in the series, the diverse ethnic makeup of the cast looks promising.
2. Visual Effects
Jesus was known for performing miracles while on earth. When bringing His story to life, it’s important that these miracles look realistic.
From the looks of things, the effects in the trailer look impressive in scenes where we see water being poured and turned into wine right before our eyes.
3. Acting
After watching the Bible series on the History Channel we have high expectations for the acting that will be featured on this show. Thankfully, this trailer does not disappoint.
The narrator in the trailer makes us feel like we’re watching a coming attraction at the movie theater as we see Greg Barnett flipping a table as Jesus with the emotion that we would expect from a frustrated Messiah.
While we are left to wonder how each character will come alive in this series that will feature commentary from the likes of Father James Martin, Joel Osteen, Reverend Gabriel Salguero, Dr. Ben Witherington III, and Bishop Michael Curry, the trailer has us anxiously awaiting an epic event.
The series premiere of JESUS: HIS LIFE will take place on Monday, March 25 at 8pm ET/PT with two back-to-back episodes.
